Why we vet so carefully

Our approach

The Exchange is intentionally small and intentionally selective. Every member is identity-verified and background-checked before approval, and all members join through an existing member's introduction. This isn't a formality — it's the foundation the entire club is built on.

How the verification process works

  Apply

  Submit basic information and tell us a little about yourself. Takes about five minutes.

  Application & Verification Fee

  Pay a one-time $65 non-refundable fee that covers the cost of your background and identity verification through Checkr.
• 3
  Identity & background verification

  You'll complete a secure verification through Checkr, our screening partner. This happens entirely on Checkr's platform — we never see or store your SSN or ID documents, only the final result.

  Decision

  The automated check typically clears within minutes, unlocking your membership selection immediately. A deeper county-level check continues running in the background. If you're cleared on the initial check you may join and begin accessing the club — if the deeper check later flags something requiring review, your membership will be paused pending that review, and if membership cannot be continued, your most recent membership fee will be refunded.

  Choose your membership

  Once approved, you'll select your membership tier and complete setup with our payment partner, Square.

Membership doesn't end the vetting culture — it's part of what every member signs up for. We expect the same discretion from you that you expect from everyone else in the room.
