Code of Conduct

Last updated June 2026

1. Consent Comes First

No one is owed access to anyone else's body, time, or attention. Every interaction — a conversation, a touch, anything further — requires clear, affirmative, ongoing consent from everyone involved. Consent to one thing is never consent to another thing. Consent can be withdrawn at any moment, for any reason, with no explanation owed. "No" is a complete sentence and must be respected immediately.

If you are ever unsure whether someone has consented, the answer is to ask — clearly, and again if circumstances change. Assuming consent because someone hasn't objected, is dressed a certain way, or has interacted with you before is never acceptable.

2. Respect & Communication

  • Treat every member, guest, and staff member with basic respect, regardless of whether you're interested in them.
  • A polite "no thank you" must be accepted gracefully — no pressure, no guilt-tripping, no repeated asking.
  • Harassment, stalking, or following a member who has declined interest is grounds for immediate removal.

3. Privacy & Discretion

  • Phones are welcome at The Exchange, but no photos, recordings, or screenshots of anyone without their explicit, individual consent — no exceptions.
  • Never share images or identifying details of any member or guest outside the club under any circumstances.
  • Do not disclose another member's identity, attendance, or anything you observe or learn about them to anyone outside the club.

4. Private Spaces

Private rooms are available for booking by members. Respect any signal or indicator on a room door that indicates it is occupied or in use — do not knock, enter, or attempt to engage without an explicit invitation. Full details on the room signaling system are available in your member portal after approval.

5. Alcohol & Substances

  • The Exchange operates a full bar. Drink responsibly — know your limits and the limits of those around you.
  • Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited on Exchange premises.
  • Members are expected to look out for one another. If someone appears too intoxicated to consent clearly, do not initiate or continue any interaction with them.

6. Health & Hygiene

Come clean and well-groomed out of respect for everyone in the room. If you are feeling unwell or have a contagious illness, please stay home — your membership and standing are not affected by sitting out an event for health reasons.

7. Guests & Sponsorship

If you sponsor a guest, you are responsible for their conduct for the duration of their visit. Guests are expected to follow this Code of Conduct in full, exactly as members are.

8. Grounds for Immediate Removal

Any of the following will result in immediate removal from the premises and may result in permanent termination of membership without refund:

  • Non-consensual contact of any kind.
  • Photography, recording, or disclosure of another member's identity or presence without consent.
  • Harassment, coercion, or refusal to accept "no."
  • Illegal drug use on premises.
  • Any conduct that endangers the safety of another member, guest, or staff member.

9. Reporting Concerns

If something happens that concerns you — whether it involves you directly or something you witnessed — tell a staff member immediately, or reach out afterward to membership@exchangesocialclub.com. Reports are taken seriously, and members will never be penalized for reporting a genuine concern in good faith.
