Privacy Policy

Draft — last updated June 2026

1. Information We Collect

When you apply for membership, we collect the information you provide directly: your name, email, phone number, city and state, the membership tier you're interested in, and the name of any sponsoring member. We do not collect your Social Security number, date of birth, or government ID — that information is provided directly to our screening partner, Checkr, and never passes through The Exchange's systems.

When you make a payment, your card details are entered directly into a secure form provided by our payment processor, Square. The Exchange's systems never receive or store your full card number.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process your membership application and communicate with you about its status.
  • To process payments for membership dues, the Application & Verification Fee, and Guest Passes.
  • To administer your membership, including billing, event communication, and enforcement of our Membership Terms and Code of Conduct.
  • To maintain the safety and integrity of our membership base.

3. Information We Share

We share information with two service providers, and only to the extent each needs it to do its job: Square processes payments and never shares your full card details with us. Checkr conducts identity verification and background checks directly with you; we receive only the final result of that check, not the underlying report or any personal identifiers used to run it.

We do not sell member information. We do not share member identity, attendance, or activity with any third party for marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required to do so by law.

4. Data Retention

We retain application and membership information for as long as your membership is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. We do not retain background check reports themselves — those remain with Checkr, subject to their own retention policies.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we hold, including limiting what we collect in the first place — by design, the most sensitive categories of information (full card numbers, SSNs, government IDs) never reach our systems at all, handled instead by Square and Checkr respectively.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by contacting membership@exchangesocialclub.com. Requests related to your background check report itself should be directed to Checkr directly, as they are the party that holds that information.

7. Member Discretion Commitments

Beyond what's legally required, discretion is core to how we operate. We do not publish member lists, do not use member names or likenesses in marketing without explicit consent, and expect the same discretion from every member toward one another, as described in our Code of Conduct.

8. Cookies & Website Data

This website does not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Standard web server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be collected automatically as part of normal website operation.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
